well for the most part...LOL. It was a busy day preparing the trailer, packing clothes, finishing last loads of laundry. All are asleep now except for Ben F., now to be called James, his middle name, in order to avoid confusion between the two Ben's.
The friends arrived about nine this evening and seem to have everything they need. They said their goodbyes to Mom and siblings. I'm sure its a bit hard to let your boy go for 23 days but we will take good care of them. Thanks Becky and Karri!
I think all the kids are anxious to get going. They all pitched in and helped pack the trailer with their clothes, sleeping bags, they carried loads of food and organize the linens. I'm finishing up a few last miscellaneous items. What you ask could I be finishing up at 1:30 in the morning? I'm making "puppy chow". Thanks to a sweet friend of mine (Maria) who got my boy hooked on this scrumptious treat, I couldn't think of traveling without it! I will also make a container for Josh, as it is one of his favorite snacks. (It will be at Grandma's for you Josh)
The plan is to head out of here at 6 am, guess we will see if we make that happen. Our first stop will be Davenport, Iowa which is roughly 496 miles and translates into one LONG day of driving!!! Hauling a trailer makes for some slow steady driving while you pray for good gas mileage.
Well I guess I will be updating you in a couple of hours with our take off time! Pray for safe travels, we will miss you all!
I better get to making that Puppy Chow! Thanks for reading!
